WELCOME, CHLOE SHYANN LAKE!

Well, It looks like we had the baby shower just in time! The baby shower was on Sat. the 19th. and the baby was born, today Friday the 25th. She weighted 7 pounds .1 and was 19 and one half inches long! She was born around 9:30 this morning and the doctor had to take her by c section. The doctor tried to induce labor but Chloe just didn't seem ready for this world. Michelle went to doctor's appointment, yesterday and her blood pressure was way too high. So the nurse at the clinic told her to go on out to the hospital. We got to the hospital around 3:00 p.m. and she didn't have Chloe until around 9:30 this morning. Who do you think she looks like?

PAY IT FORWARD

Have you ever seen that movie? The premise is the very simple act of just doing someone a favor without expecting anything in return, and if you would just "pay it forward" by returning the act of kindness and generosity, then it might be possible for a global outpouring of decency toward all mankind.A blogger (A Mother Singing) decided to start her own "pay it forward" project. One of Mendy's blogger friends, Diana , was a recipient of a gift, and then Mendy. Now my daughter, Shirley send it to me, via her blog. RULES: Now it is my turn to pay it forward. How does it work? Here are the rules: I will send a gift (of my choosing) to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this "PIF" exchange, and who make the same pledge on their own blog. The only thing you have to do in return is PAY IT FORWARD - on your own blog. So, if you want to get a goodies from me, and are willing to do the same via your blog, let me know!(Note that you'll need to give me your real (snail mail) address... which you can do by private email.)Just leave a comment and I will get with you.So, who's up for it? This world does need a little kindness, don't ya think?**I encourage EVERYONE who reads this to Pay It Forward to someone they encounter today or tomorrow. You might give up your seat on a bus, let a car in line in front of you, or just compliment someone. You never know what your simple act might do!**

FAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE NOTHING

I'm so sick of people judging other people on their size. See all those photos, they are of people who have feelings. They are the same as all the skinny people out there! They are just as important, if not more so, because they aren't stuck up. All you little people need get out of your make believe world. All you model types need to wake up and get to know us fat people. We will be there for you quicker than any two faced barbie doll, who's only looking out for their self. We all have feelings, dreams, and are the same on the inside. DUH......SO WAKE UP AND HUG A FAT PERSON! I promise it won't kill you! You may find the best friend that you will ever have.

My Mother, My Child

Well, here are some pictures from Mothers' Day! My Mom, asked me to come down early on the Friday, before Mothers' Day. She was going to the hospital, and wanted me to be with her. She was going to tell the Doctor, that she didn't want to take chemotherapy. So, as I was driving down to her house, she called my cellphone. She said that she called and told the doc. that she wasn't taking the chemo. Mom said that, I didn't have to come down, if I couldn't afford the gas. I informed her that I was half way there, already, and planned on staying all night. This news made her very happy, like a little kid would get, telling him that you were taking him to the zoo or something. It doesn't take a lot to make old people happy, I know, I'm one of them LOL! When people get older they go back to their childhood, guess it's one way not to deal with the fact of growing old! So, we got up Sat. morning, and I took Mom to get her hair done. I must admit it made her look 10 years younger! It was a cute haircut, and when I first saw it, she looked renewed. She looked like a little child, so short and sweet and innocent. LOL! So, next we went looking in Wal-Mart, we found matching tops, to wear on Mothers' Day. Sunday morning was a trip! Paul , came down to cook breakfast for us. I guess he was cooking, to treat us for Mothers' Day. He put some oats on to cook, not knowing that there was a rubber mat stuck to the bottom of the pan. The stove started smoking, and black foul smelling smoke filled the apt. He turned off the burner and got the rubber off the stove, and then turned the burner back on. DUH...... Paul, the burner still has some rubber on it, I said. He finished cooking it on another burner! Boy, was he ever mad when I wouldn't eat the rubber oatmeal! My Mom took the oatmeal, and put in the trash, when he wasn't looking. Like a little kid would do! As we were leaving for church, the building manager, was coming in the door to see what was smoking. Someone called her thinking, the elevator was burning. We told her, no it was only Paul, cooking breakfast! LOL! We got to church, and everyone loved Mom's new hairdo. They were all telling her how pretty she looked! She just loved all the attention, like a little child would! I just had to take some photos, since Mom was looking better than she has in a long time. I knew that it might be the last good pictures I got of her, what with the cancer and all. We had a very good time and I'm afraid that it maybe the last good day I have with her. I'll always remember that day!

A NOTE ABOUT SCHOOL PROJECTS!

My Granddaughter and her Dad, went out and got plaster and balloons, to do a School project. The project was to make an Anaconda. They made it out of plaster, a balloon, and newspapers, in other words, a paper mache. By the time they were done, it was so heavy that when they tried to pick it up, it broke in three places. So, my Granddaughter, decided to make it out of water, flour, & glue. My Son was done with the whole thing by this time, image that! It came out O.K. but it was taking forever to dry. Alexis had to be back @her Mom's house that night, and had to turn in the project on Monday. What to do, What to do.......... So Alexis got a bright idea! She took some brown painters' tape, and wrapped it around the balloon. She left a red tip sticking out, like a snakes' tongue, it looked really neat! Then she painted over the tape with brown and put black dots all over it. I took some photos of her working on it, but forgot to get a photo of the finished project. And me a photographer........DUH! She took it to School on Monday and guess what? She got a A on the project and a A on the report about Anacondas. In conclusion, if you ever have to do a project with paper mache, use painters' tape instead. It's not messy and it cost almost nothing to make. Believe me, no one will know the difference! As you can see, she did manage to make a mess with the paint. Oh! Well, nothing is completely fool proof with kids......DUH!

Grandma's flowers

My daug. send her Grandma some flowers, a few weeks ago. She found them on the Internet, so didn't know how they would turn out.
After all, they were only $19.99, for 100 African lilies. This was to be a surprise for Grandma. They arrived on the day they were suppose to, image that! Grandma saw the truck pull up, she thought they were bringing more depends, oh no she said . I don't need more of those things, I have a whole shelf of them. The driver, knocked on the door and to her surprise he had a long box in his arms. She didn't know what to think. She opened the box and just about fainted. I wish that I had been there, to see the look on her face. It was a far cry from depends and I'm sure they smelled better. LOL!

The Big Storm

A few years ago, my daug. and her family, came to visit. They live in Tenn., and had to drive five hours to get here. This was the year we had the big ice storm. Just as they were getting off the exit ramp, the hail started, and they found a place to pull under. The carport kept the new van from getting dents. As soon as the hail stopped they went to a motel and I met them there. It was still storming, and my Son in law is afraid of storms. He wasn't afraid of storms until he came back from Iraq, must be the sound of the thunder, reminding him of the bombs going off. He was so afraid that he made the kids get in the bathtub. I guess he though they would be safer in there. My daug. and myself, got a real kick out of the whole thing. I guess that you would've had to be there to get the whole picture. Anyway, we had a good time, something I'll always remember.

My Mom

I went down to my Mom's, to spent the weekend with her. She is getting hard of hearing, so everything has to be loud. Sat. night we went to bed, me in the front room, on a roll-a- way bed. My Mom sleeps with her T.V. on, and had it up as loud as she could. I tried to close her door, but she made me open it again. She said it got too cold in the room with the door closed. So here I am, trying to go to sleep, with a T.V. drumming in my ears. After about a hour of this, I'm used to sleeping in complete quiet, I got up to go to the restroom. I looked in her room and she was asleep, so I went in quietly and turned down the sound, I then went to the restroom When I came out, my Mom was sitting on the edge of the bed turning up the sound. So much for that! I laid back down to try to sleep, to no avail, it was just too loud. I got up again and looked in her room, she was sound asleep. I quietly went in her room again, this time I was going to make sure she didn't turn the sound back up. I took the battery out of the remote and turned it around so it wouldn't work. Ah! sleep at last, but something woke me up again, so I got up. My Mom was sitting on the edge of the bed flipping the channels by hand. She couldn't get the sound to go up, but she was making noise by changing the channels. She looked up at me and asked me if the T.V. was too loud. When I said yes, she informed me that I play the T.V. loud. I answered, but not when I'm trying to sleep Mom.
